Terms of use
These terms cover your use of the Weekly Dinners app and this website. By using the app you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use it. In these terms, “we” and “us” mean Farrukh Ameen, who makes and runs Weekly Dinners, and “you” means the person using it.
The app
We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the app on your own devices. The sale happens in the App Store or on Google Play, and the store’s own terms cover that sale. Apple applies its standard licensed application terms to the app on iPhone; Google Play applies its own terms on Android. These terms add the rules that are specific to Weekly Dinners.
The subscription
Planning and shopping need a plan. There are two: $3.99 a month or $24.99 a year. These are US dollar prices; in other countries the store shows the price in your currency before you buy.
- Free trial. A new subscription starts with a 14-day free trial. The store decides who is eligible. Cancel during the trial and you pay nothing.
- Reminder. If you allow notifications, the app reminds you 2 days before the first charge. The reminder is a courtesy; the date in your store account is the one that counts.
- Renewal. After the trial, the plan renews each month or year at the price above until you cancel. The store takes the payment. We never see your card or payment details.
- Cancelling. Cancel in your App Store account or your Google Play account, at least 24 hours before the end of the current period so it does not renew. Removing the app or deleting your data in the app does not cancel it.
- Refunds. Apple and Google handle refunds under their own rules. We cannot issue them for a store purchase.
- One plan for the household. One plan covers everyone in the same household. Whoever started the plan can change or cancel it. If that person cancels, the household stays covered until the end of the period already paid. If that person leaves the household or deletes their data, their plan stops covering the people still in it at once.
- When a plan ends. Your dinners and lists stay readable, but planning and shopping stop until a plan is active again.
- Prices. Prices can change. The store tells you before a change reaches you, and you can cancel before it applies.
Your household
A household is a group of phones that share dinners and lists. Anyone who has the household code can join, and every member can see and change the household’s dinners and lists. Share the code only with people you trust. How leaving a household and deleting your data work is on the privacy page.
Recipes, food and allergies
Each dinner shows what it is based on and who took its photo. Cooking times, amounts and the calories and nutrients shown with a dinner are estimates, worked out from the ingredient amounts and USDA food data. They are not medical or dietary advice.
Allergies and food rules are preferences you set. We leave these out of suggestions. Always check labels. A dinner’s “Contains” line lists the nine major allergens in our recipe as written. Brands and substitutions differ, so a dinner is never a promise that it is free of an allergen. If an allergy is serious, check every label and ask your doctor.
Food rules, such as no pork or vegetarian, follow the ingredients in our recipes. They are not a religious or dietary certification.
Using the app
Use the app for your own household’s cooking and shopping. Do not try to break it, copy it, take it apart or overload our services. We may change or stop the app, and we will do our best to say so in the app first.
The app, its design and its writing belong to us or to the people who license them to us. Recipes keep the licences of their sources, shown in the app. You may share your week card and shopping list with anyone you like.
No warranty
The app is provided as it is. We work to keep it correct and available, but we do not promise that it will be free of errors or always online. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss that comes from using the app, including from relying on a recipe, an estimate or a shopping list. Nothing here removes any consumer rights you have that cannot be waived under the law where you live.
Changes
If these terms change, the new version goes on this page with a new date at the top. Using the app after that means you accept the new terms.
